The Palazzo Collection is intentionally crafted to reflect the character of aged, timeworn stone. Each tile carries an antiqued surface treatment designed to evoke the look of historic floors shaped by centuries of use. This process results in a naturally varied appearance, where no two pieces are ever exactly alike.
As part of this aged aesthetic, certain tiles may display visible surface cracking. These marks are not defects, but a deliberate design choice intended to enhance the authentic, distressed character of the collection. Some pieces may appear more pronounced than others, reflecting the organic nature of the finishing process.
Tiles that feature deep voids or cracks exceeding approximately 3/8” in diameter should be reserved for cutting or edge detailing. All other pieces can be installed and grouted using standard methods, allowing the surface to read as cohesive and intentional once in place.
Due to the handmade and antiqued nature of the Palazzo Collection, visual variation is inherent and should be expected. Perception of what constitutes “damage” can be subjective, and this natural inconsistency is precisely what gives the tiles their unique charm recalling the worn beauty of ancient Roman streets that have endured for centuries.
