Tamara has worked extensively as a residential interior designer, and writer as the author of Nest by Tamara blog where she has over 2 million readers. As a result, she is often invited to speak at design events around the world and writes on the subject. She learned the ins and outs of textiles in the early days after graduating from Parsons School of Design while also working for several designers.  She expanded upon that in 2016 when she launched root cellar designs to create and manufacture a line of fabric, wallpaper for the home. In 2019, she was awarded Rising Star of Product Design by the IFDA NY Chapter. As a working designer, Tamara understands the unique products designers look to incorporate in their projects.

Summer House Collection inspiration

Tamara tapped into her love for living by the sea as inspiration for the Summer House tile collection. Many of the antique homes in the East End of Long Island where she lives showcase gorgeous Delft and other antique blue and cream tile in the fireplaces, the kitchens, bathrooms and walls. These patterns seem to tell a rich story, and Tamara hopes to capture that essence while weaving her unique root cellar designs’ vision, a mix of old and new to bring to today’s home
