Trained in architecture, Furman is an artist and designer based in London whose work creatively fuses traditions, contemporary themes, and beautiful materials to form high quality, crafted and tactile experiences rooted in shared experiences of delight.
Furman works across scales and disciplines, from painting, videos and prints, to large public and architectural artworks, furniture, interiors, and beyond. His vibrant aesthetic combines a plurality of influences into a distinctive visual language that is singular, but highly adaptive, and very much his own.
Exhibited and collected internationally, Adam Nathaniel’s work is held in the permanent collections of the Design Museum (London), the Sir John Soane’s Museum, the Carnegie Museum of Art, the National Gallery of Victoria, the National Museum (of Norway), the Abet Museum, and the Architectural Association.
The Ziggurat Ceramic Tile Collection
Adam Nathaniel Furman’s first collection for Mgm Tile, is a celebration of simple 3-dimensional forms interplaying with light. Each tile has a raised surface design with staggering steps that mimic the ancient shape of a ziggurat temple. The small steps on each of the tiles create a subtle but constant play of reflection, shadow, and colours on any wall with which they are decorated. The result is a powerful architectural effect that recalls the decorations in ancient buildings, but with a bold, refined, and modern interpretation.
